Expo’s fifth edition scaled new heights showcasing innovations from frontline industry players.

bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2018 was held from December 11 to 14, at HUDA Ground, Gurgaon. the flagship industry exposition witnessed ardous sentiment of 700 companies including CASE, JCB, CATERPILLAR, LiuGong, MB Crusher India, Volvo Penta, Larsen and Toubro, Kobelco and HAULOTTE, Schwing Stetter, SANY, Wirtgen, among others, players. Visitors discovered technological dexterity and saw machines in live action at the event from 26 countries which presented their machines, products and innovative technologies for construction industry. As many as 39,173 leading industry professionals gathered at the event.

Manufacturers from all parts of the world brought forth an array of construction vehicles, earth-moving machines, road construction and maintenance equipment, access equipment, construction equipment, tools and special systems, handling and processing concrete and mortar at construction sites, formwork and scaffoldings, site installations, mining, among other offerings.

Thanks to the momentum of transport and infrastructure initiatives, construction industry is booming leading to a slew of business opportunities for the construction machinery market in the country. Exhibitors in the country reiterated their commitment towards buoying the sector’s growth. With construction machinery market scaling new heights, the country is set to become the world’s third-largest market for the global construction industry by 2025, according to industry data.

All-encompassing growth
Overall, the trade fair saw growth of 20 percent as compared to 2016. Rtn. Er. A. Puhazhendi, National President, Builders Association of India, said, “For our member companies throughout India, bC India is a must-attend event to stay informed about latest industry trends and new technologies.”

Apart from Indian visitors, the expo also welcomed buyer delegations from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and other countries in the region.

The Indian subcontinent offers excellent opportunities for doing business in the construction industry. Major infrastructure projects, the booming transport sector and urban development are just some of the driving forces of the market. With a growth of 30 per cent in space compared to 2016, bC India reflects the momentum of the industry.

The show featured again renowned companies such as ACE, Ajax Fiori Engineering, Case, Caterpillar, Doosan Bobcat, JCB, Kobelco, L&T, Liugong, PERI, Putzmeister, Sany, Schwing Stetter, Volvo, Wirtgen, Zoomlion and many more. First-time exhibitors included the Indian manufacturers Tata Hitachi, Escorts and the German company Kaeser Kompressoren.

For the first time, the trade expo featured a Buyer Seller Forum, giving visitors the additional chance to network with potential business partners. The initiative proved to be a success and brought together technology providers and buyers in 3,023 meetings.

Shashi Gaggar, Vice President UltraTech said, “The buyer seller forum will help to encourage business between sellers and buyers and will increase the essence of such type of show in the long run.“

Innovations galore
Schwing Stetter India unveiled 12 new products at the expo. The company also launched Super six transit mixers and Schwing IoT Ready, IoT In and IoT Abled this year.

Ajax Fiori put across 12 products out of which three have been new launches as well. The company has optimised self-loading concrete mixers, Additionally, the company now has batching plants, concrete pumps as well.

Technocraft announced the launch of MACH ONE Formwork System that enables construction of monolithic reinforced concrete columns, slabs, beams, stairways and walls. It offers safe, fast and easy solution for the forming of repeated floor plans. It would enable speeding construction of complex structures in a safe and economical manner.

KYB Conmat exhibited full range of batching plant right from 20 cu.m mobile batching plant to 40 cu.m tower plant with tower plant being the prime product. Government is taking lot of steps to remove batching plant from the city environment and to move it outside to deal with the problem of pollution. Thus, tower plant has been developed especially for city and it can be installed in a very small footprint like 9m-9m. Everything is enclosed such as the concrete transportation and aggregates transportation. So, it’s a dust-free installation and operation.

There are two advantages – one is small requirement of space and second is eco-friendliness. These are two important hallmarks of this product. Since it is direct loading and direct pouring batching plant, it consumes very low power as compared to traditional plants. The model is expected to be a success in all the big cities.

Additionally, the company has launched compact mobile plant for transit mixer loading application which is a 9-m to 2-m loading plant and does not require ramp for loading. Fully mobile plant with belt conveyor has also been rolled out in the market and can be transported very easily from one site to other site. The plant does not entail foundation and setting-up time is half a day. and you don’t require a foundation.

By 2025, India is expected to become the third largest market for the global construction industry. This growth is mainly attributable to large infrastructure projects. Over the next nine years, analysts expect an average real growth of 6.2 percent per year. According to forecasts, bulldozers, backhoe loaders and crawler excavators are going to see a massive increase in sales over the next five years.

The next bauma CONEXPO INDIA will take place in 2020 in Delhi.
