Burnpur Cement to invest Rs 500 crore for capacity expansion

Cement: Burnpur Cement plans to invest Rs.500 crore for expansion of its production capacity to 3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) in the next 3-4 years, a company official said on Wednesday. “Presently, our installed capacity stands at 0.6 mtpa and we are planning to enhance the capacity to 3 mtpa (million tonne per annum) in the coming 3-4 years,” the company’s vice chairman and managing director Ashok Gutgutia said. The cement producer has two plants, one in Asansol in West Bengal and the other in Patratu district in Jharkhand. Each plant has 0.3 mtpa installed capacity.
