Skyscraper office building worth Rs 32 Crore for VMC

Construction: Vijayawada Municipal Corporation plans to construct C+G+9 Floor New Office Building in the existing premises of VMC Head Office (Non EPC System). Even before the state government begins making efforts to realise its dream to construct skyscrapers in the new capital Amaravati, an ultra-modern high-rise building is all set to come up in the temporary capital, Vijayawada. As Vijayawada is now acting as temporary ‘seat of power’ to the state, its civic body, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC), too will soon have a swanky high-rise corporate office. The state government on Thursday gave its nod for the VMC commissioner to call for tenders to construct the proposed building with an estimated cost of Rs 32 Crore. The new building with seven floors will come up in the existing VMC premises in the city.
