Facade lighting to revamp buildings

Lighting compliments the exterior of a building. In architecture, the facade of a building is often the most important aspect from a design standpoint since it sets the tone for the rest of the building. The facade lighting not only helps to localise buildings and provide security, but also plays a key role in the architectural expression. Roopesh Gupta, MD & CEO, P3 Architectural Solutions, talks about potential designs and prolonging materials used for facade lighting.

Discuss the variety of design possibilities, longevity, and low operating expenses during the use of the building.
In today’s era of modern architecture, there is an influx of fresh and dynamic design ideas. These modern ideas have given birth to a number of utilitarian and variant architectural and interior design products. One such industry that has seen tremendous growth is the lighting industry. The number of design possibilities and features that are available with the lighting brands spread across the country are growing by the minute. The various lighting design possibilities are as follows:
Fixed Downlights: They are designed to meet the demands of a majority of rooms such as lounges, bedrooms and kitchens. Kitchen downlights don’t have to be IP rated as they pose no threat to water ingress.

Recessed Downlights: Recessed downlights are available in countless shapes, sizes, finishes and brightness. It is important to choose the right type of downlight to meet the demands of your project or application.

Facilities and properties everywhere are switching to more efficient lighting technology. Older lighting technologies such as metal halide, high pressure sodium (HPS), or even fluorescent lights are slowly becoming obsolete and are being replaced with evolving solid-state lighting technology. All else equal, LEDs offer the longest rated lifespan compared to commercial application lights such as metal halide, HPS, and fluorescent lights. When a facility adopts LED, their lighting system is set up for a lifespan of two to three times the lifespan of other lighting technologies.

Discuss the latest design variants available in the market and the ones you are offering.
Surface mounted light fixtures have been a staple piece of design for decades. Their immense strength lies in their flexibility, since they can be installed in almost any space without dramatically altering the ceiling, and are available in endless shapes and sizes.

Adjustable downlights allow you to direct the light into a different direction other than directly down. You may want to direct the light onto a cupboard or illuminate a specific object or painting. Adjustable downlights cost more, considerably more with integrated downlights and they usually have a larger cut out size.

LED bollard lights are part of that category of outdoor lighting systems designated to light up walkways or pathways, thus acquiring a merely technical function. Garden LED bollard lights are extremely easy to install and, in certain cases, even to move, when they are to be simply fixed on the lawn.

The number of design possibilities and features that are available with the lighting brands spread across the country are growing by the minute.
