With emerging smart cities, how do you see the demand for your products in India?
Smart cities are making us rethink the entire concept of urban planning. Whether it is IoT or the urban infrastructure, we have to understand the future needs as well as be ready for the same. In terms of infrastructure, we have to relook at the issue from two angles viz. developing a future-ready infrastructure from scratch wherever required as well as augmenting the current aging infrastructure. The role played by reliable and versatile construction equipment cannot be underestimated in this aspect.

At Hyundai, we have developed a portfolio of products that address specific needs of the urban construction requirements as well as tight and challenging worksites that we have to deal with in cities. Naturally, we expect the demand for our products to rise in this regard. Our models like R80 SMART, R110 SMART, R140LC-9, R210 SMART and R215L SMART have proven their worth in this respect. With a full-fledged line-up of equipment that would meet all the needs of the projects, Hyundai would be an active player in the transformation that the smart cities project would bring about.

How are your products adding more value to construction?
With infrastructure being one of the highest priorities for the government, it is highly vigilant about the execution and timelines of the projects. This, in turn as led to a demand for SMART equipment that can do the work in the least amount of time while ensuring the profitability of the customers. We are committed to increase the profitability of our customers by reducing the operating costs as well as increasing their productivity. Our portfolio includes machines that have been developed to meet the specific requirements of the market. All this while ensuring the reliability and minimum downtime.

Our customers are well aware of this fact and this is one of the main reasons that they continue to show their confidence in Hyundai. The underlying reason for this is the reliability and productivity that Hyundai Equipment delivers to the project. This is why we were able to have the fastest rollout of 20,000 excavators in the industry.

Discuss about your latest product or innovation?
Hyundai excavators come with an advanced display cluster and instrumentation panel. Apart from indications like working RPM, engine and hydraulic oil temperature, the display also features self-diagnostics, service history as well as intervals and information to troubleshoot any issues.

Apart from this, Hyundai offers Hi-Mate, machine management system that helps our customers with live monitoring of their machines including working hours, idling hours, fuel consumption and rate, geo tracking as well as fencing. These innovations add to the productivity as well as sense of security of our customers.
