Ports & Shipping: V.O. Chidambaranar Port Trust has plan to undertake development of shallow draught berth for handling general cargo, north cargo berth- III for handling coal, north cargo berth- IV for handling containers and clean cargo. Apart from this the port aims to construct truck parking terminal, upgradation of coal jetty-I and coal jetty-II, installation of 5 MW solar power plant and other related works at Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu.
