Vedic City bringing back ancient India

"It [Vedic City] is the first project in Asia which is inspired from architectural beauty of great rulers of Mauryan empire,” emphasises Manoj Dwivedi, CMD, Shri Infratech
Vedic City is definitely my dream project because it’s not only a gigantic project (spread over 580 acres), but also from architectural point of view, it’s going to be fantastic and delight for art connoisseurs. There will be a monumental centre for the performing arts, fine art and sculpture galleries, museums and theatres. In fact, Vedic City will become a national as well as international culture/art destination for visitors, not to mention the universities, colleges and medical centres which will be located within its precincts.
USP of the projectIt is the first project in Asia which is inspired from architectural beauty of great rulers of Mauryan empire. The inspiration for Vedic City can be found in the glorious ancient history of India. Known as the “golden period” in the 3rd and 4th century BC this vast fertile land was populated by a civilization made up of highly skilled, well-educated and artistic people. The Mauryas, Guptas, Ashoka, the ‘Buddha’ and other spiritual giants walked on the earth. Art, architecture, music and dance all flourished with good passion and patronage from the rulers. The emphasis in the architectural design is more on the artistic values and purely of its sandstone designs reminiscent of the Greco-Roman sculptures of antiquity, mingled with the influences from the Persian dynasties. India’s national symbol with the “Lions and Wheel” is from this very period. Thus, it is not so much about any particular religion or faith, but more of an emergence of a culture, based on art, beauty and harmony with natural surroundings.
Located in the economically vibrant zone, Vedic City consists of group housing, independent villas and plots overlooking beautiful lakes and manicured lawns, for those culture-connoisseurs looking for a peaceful home amidst lush green surrounding. Fabricated in a controlled biosphere that is environment-friendly complying with the green norms and pollution mandates.
The township is connected to Delhi through NH 91 and has entry point from the proposed Eastern Peripheral Expressway, besides two entry points from a 45-metre wide master plan road. The Taj Expressway connects it to historic city of Agra. The metro connectivity has been proposed and nearest metro station will be Bodaki. The close proximity to Dedicated Freight Corridor adds another dimension to project’s magnetic appeal.
Socio-economic impactsThis project is strategically located in the hi-tech city which has been planned to uplift the economic profile of the area. The freight corridor is to pass through this area, and the project is located on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. This project will have world-class hospital, museum, art gallery, knowledge park and stadium etc. This area will be on the world map, post this development.
Challenges faced in executionThe regulatory environment is an area of concern, plus it is an underdeveloped area which has its own issues.
Solutions undertakenThe government is very keen to raise economic profile of the area. So, Shri Infratech is working together to achieve this goal.
