CASE Construction Equipment signs MOU with IIT Indore

A variety of technical evaluation laboratory equipment will be provided by CASE to the CASE Centre of Excellence as part of its corporate social responsibility programmes.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Indore (IIT Indore) and CASE Construction Equipment, a well-known brand of CNH Industrial, have inked an MOU to establish a CASE Centre of Excellence on the campus. The association, which is a component of CASE’s CSR activities, seeks to promote more industry-academic collaboration for research, knowledge advancement, and idea sharing.

In the presence of Dr. Partha Pratim Chattaraj, Senior Vice President, Alumni & Corporate Relations, and IIT Indore, Satendra Tiwari, Head of Manufacturing—Pithampur, CASE Construction Equipment, and Professor Suhas S. Joshi, Director, signed the Memorandum of Understanding. When the CASE Centre of Excellence opens in March 2024, it will contain a variety of laboratory equipment donated by CASE for technical assessment.

Following the MOU, IIT Indore will supply enough space that is ready to be installed, together with all the equipment and staff needed to operate the facility and maximise utilisation to support testing and research operations. Faculty and students from IIT will conduct the testing and research. Any other external enterprises or organisations are welcome to utilise the facility for further research and information sharing.

Suhas S. Joshi, Director, IIT, Indore, says, “The upcoming, state-of-the-art CASE Centre of Excellence will strategically contribute to the institute’s growth and this collaboration is poised to redefine research and development at our institute significantly.”

Since its founding, CASE, a pioneer in the construction equipment industry worldwide since 1842, has maintained its position as the market leader in both the backhoe loader and vibratory compactor segments. The company has also been active in India since 1989. At its cutting-edge manufacturing plant in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, CASE manufactures machinery made in India and sells a comprehensive variety of construction equipment to both local and international markets.

CASE has set up a training centre at the Pithampur plant grounds to provide training on newer machinery and technologies as part of their ongoing efforts to improve talent development. The almost 900-square-meter centre has three classrooms, a practical workshop space adjacent, and the capacity to train up to 72 students at once. Additionally, as part of their Hunar project, the brand constructed a 1200-square-foot facility called the Skill Development Centre, which is located in Sonvai, Rau, near Pithampur, and helps train 240 professionals annually.
