EXCON, South Asia’s biggest construction equipment event, is all set to get rolling from 12th December with over 1,000 exhibitors including 300 overseas companies expected to participate.
EXCON 2017, the 9th international construction equipment and construction technology trade fair, is all set to break all records. The event is scheduled to be held between 12th and 16th December will host who’s who from the industry on a bigger platform. Organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), India’s premier industry association, EXCON is the most anticipated and most sought-after event in the construction equipment industry in entire South Asia. According to Shalabh Chaturvedi, Head of Marketing, CASE India, “The 2017 edition is anticipated to be even more special as it marks the revival of the Indian construction equipment industry and our preparations are on full swing.” CASE would be showcasing its entire gamut of products being currently offered in India. They also plan some new launches during the event.
Ideal platform to connect with customers
EXCON is one of the biggest exhibitions in South Asia. Hence JCB India considers it as an ideal platform to exhibit products and services that have the potential to drive growth in the future. “JCB has always been one of large exhibitors at EXCON and we utilise this platform to connect with our customers and showcase our entire range of products and technology,” comments Jasmeet Singh, Head – Corp Comm & External Relations, JCB India.

JCB will also display its range of consumer products, parts and product support options. In addition, JCB’s famous Dancing Diggers show will also enthral the crowd throughout the five-day event. “Visitors will get to experience world-class technology in action at our stand in terms of Telematics and Internet of Things,” assures Jasmeet.
EXCON – The launch pad
Schwing Stetter India will be displaying 48 products out of which 19 new products will be launched in 3,200 square metres space during EXCON 2017. Schwing Stetter India’s stall size is the biggest ever compared to the last editions of EXCON. As one of the largest exhibitors at EXCON 2017, Schwing Stetter’s products target a massive audience, from small customers to large corporate across various segments, informs V.G. Caterpillar India’s world-class machines would be on display along with many road construction and utility equipment. Also on display will be Customer Support offerings that Caterpillar and its Dealers Gmmco and TIPL can deliver. “We will be showcasing our Cat 360°ADVANTAGE, Cat Connect technology, rental and used equipment solutions apart from a Cat merchandise stall,” Vivekanand Vanmeeganathan, Country Head and Managing Director, Caterpillar India. He adds, “We will also use the platform to launch new products and services.”
Liebherr plans to introduce the new tower crane NC-B 9-62 model which is produced in the company’s Pune factory. This crane has the features which meet all requirement of customers in building commercial buildings or high-rise residential complexes, informs Krishna Kumar, Divisional Head – Tower cranes, Liebherr India Pvt Ltd. These cranes, in Krishna’s opinion, are very flexible and can be adapted to much jobsites to work efficient and cost effective.
Thinking big and setting targets
Action Construction Equipment considers EXCON as a big platform to interact with its customers and other manufacturers. According to the company’s CGM Manish Mathur, “EXCON helps us understand the dynamics and direction in which market is heading in terms of products and technologies. For ACE, it also provides an opportunity to communicate our focus and innovations to our customers.”
ACE’s focus at EXCON 2017 will be on showcasing its priorities for the next couple of years. “We are eying at increasing our market share in the road construction equipment industry and we are also focusing on the opportunity of smart city projects and low cost housing offer to our tower cranes and placing boom range,” said Mathur.
He further suggest, “For ACE this EXCON may turn out to be inflexion point in our journey to establish ourselves as the leading supplier of road equipment in the country and also we may well be able to establish ourselves among the top three backhoe loader manufacturing company in next couple of years in India.”
Showcasing advanced automation solutions
The off highway, agriculture, constructions and mobile machinery industries are cost sensitive at the same time technology craving. To keep pace with the technological advancements these industries constantly invest heavily in research and development projects. These projects vary from electronics to mechanics to offer a greater customer experience, performance, safety and much more. In EXCON 2017, B&R Industrial Automation will be showcasing its products for off-highway, agriculture, constructions and mobile machinery. Various control and distributed I/O channels will be showcased at EXCON 2017. These advanced automation solutions for the mobile industry coupled with the next generation networking technology for the mobile market will be the highlight at the B&R booth in EXCON 2017, informs Ninad Deshpande, Head- Marketing, B&R Industrial Automation.
Making large
At EXCON 2017, Volvo CE will be displaying the new and highly-anticipated EC200D excavator at its booth. “The excavator will be part of a wide spectrum of our industry-leading products on display as we seek to highlight the diversity and superior productivity of Volvo machines,” said Dimitrov Krishnan, Vice President and Head, Volvo CE India.
Joining the EC200D on stand are its sister machine, the EC210D, similarly a 20-tonne rated excavator, and the EC950E, the largest excavator in the Volvo’s line-up and one of the largest on show in Bangalore.
With road building still in the spotlight in India, Volvo will be showcasing a range of products to help contractors beat deadlines and boost profitability on the job. From its wide range of road building machines, the P6820C ABG tracked paver, DD90B asphalt compactor and SD110BA soil compactor will be on show. Rounding out the Volvo product display at EXCON 2017 is the L150H from its line of wheel loaders.
Volvo Trucks will be exhibiting alongside Volvo CE and, in total they will occupy some 2,100 square metres of exhibition space, making it one of the largest displays at EXCON 2017.

Eicher expects significant growth in these two categories as more states strictly impose restrictions on overloading. Also displaying the EOS van which highlights Eicher as a complete solution provider with emphasis on the capability to provide customer service at their doorsteps, a crucial factor for construction and mining industry.
