Jakson completes its Mumbai Metro Project

As part of its EPC portfolio, Jakson Group, one of India’s fastest-growing energy companies, completed Line 2A for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority(MMRDA) through Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.

In this project, Jakson Group was engaged as an Electrical and Mechanical contractor for Line 2A and Charkop Depot. The Scope of work included design verification, SITC of Electrical & Mechanical, Fire Detection, and Fire Suppression Systems including DG Sets for 17 stations from Dahisar east to Dahanukarwadi (Kamaraj Nagar).

Despite multiple challenges due to the pandemic like shipments of equipment and availability of experts,  the company managed to overcome the hurdles and completed the project successfully. The execution of the project complied with the Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP), zero EHS incidence, zero community grievances, complete customer satisfaction, and got clearance from the Commissioner of Metro Rail safety.

On April 2, 2022, Line 2A was flagged off by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Uddhav Thackeray.

This Mumbai Metro line, which runs parallel to the Western Express Highway, will help in decongesting the city roads and overcrowding of local trains by up to one-third. This new line can ferry more than 10 lakh passengers daily, which will significantly reduce the burden on the suburban railway network and BEST buses. Besides reducing traffic congestion, this new metro line will also prove to be eco-friendly as it will help in curtailing both air and noise pollution.
