Essar Steel launches specialised steel products for interior and architecture
Essar Steel, one of India’s leading integrated steel producers, launches a revolutionary wood-finish steel products for the Indian market. These products are a substitute for wood laminates used for interiors. The products are manufactured at Essar Steel’s Pune facility. 
The wood-finish products are made from steel that is recyclable and easier to use, lasts longer, re-resistant and eco-friendly. Unlike laminates, these products are termite resistant, easy to maintain, lightweight, fully recyclable and also does not requires any post treatment.
These products have wide applications and can be used for both internal as well as external requirements. It can be used for panelling, steel doors, wall and ceiling panels and even for furniture. With the launch of this product, Essar Steel now has complete range of products required for pre-engineered buildings. The product range includes colour products for roof, wall, ceiling, furniture and doors.
Commenting on the launch of these specialised wood-finish products, Mitesh Shah – CEO, Pune Facility, Essar Steel, said, “We, at Essar Steel, always strive to introduce innovative products and the launch of the wood-finish products is a step in that direction. These products are alternative for laminates with unique features and benefits and cheaper by 20 per cent. We are happy that we are able to offer an environment-friendly product to Indian consumers at a lesser cost. We expect to capture at least 10 per cent of the market share in the current year.” 
Essar Steel has annual production capacity of 400,000 tonnes of colour-coated products. 
These products can be made in different sizes (thickness and width) and are available in coil form. Hence, these can be cut and used as per requirement. Pre-painted wood finish metal offers an impeccable finish and endless colour and design options. The products can be made weather proof, corrosion resistant, UV resistant and anti-bacterial. It can also provide a highly flexible coating, capable of severe bends while retaining an excellent degree of hardness and resistance to marking. The finish maintains its appearance for the life of the product by being able to resist colour fade, corrosion, chemical attack, dirt retention, high temperatures, various weather conditions, and daily wear and tear.
