Especially for mass consumption properties, what according to you is the most durable flooring?

For durability, the use of natural marble, engineered marble (KalingaStone) are recommended for flooring. Engineered marble is the most favored choice for flooring applications in residences as well as in commercial spaces.

Natural marble was and is the most sought-after stone for flooring applications. The very fact that these stones are natural by design, make them unique in every way. Aesthetically, marble is the most beautiful amongst all stones. Marble lends exclusivity and elegance to the applied area and is durable, making it last for generations. It can be re-polished for bringing back any lost shine and luster. Marble also transfers and dissipates heat quickly and has a cooling effect in the installed area. The sheer variety in colors, shades and patterns present in marble is what makes it the most unique designer stone there is. Natural marble in shades of beige, grey and white are available at affordable prices which makes it an easy pick for mass consumption.

CMC employs a unique treatment – Process 360, an innovative technology that puts every marble slab through rigorous treatment for achieving unmatched strength and durability. The technology is a nine-step process that not only imparts strength and durability to the marble but also beautifies its appearance. Each marble slab is treated for Strong Pro Block Strengthening, Anti-moist Treatment, Back Pro Treatment, Master Crack Treatment, Grinding and Calibration, VEIN hence to highlight veins and patterns, Classic Shine for meticulous finish and shine, and most importantly Classic Care, an unmatched after sales support for maintenance and care of the finest Classic Marble

CMC’s ‘Make in India’ engineered stone brand – KalingaStone is one of the frontrunners in flooring applications. The range of marble offered in KalingaStone is extensive and suitable for both mass consumption projects as well as bespoke homes. As a default, the design and aesthetics of the products available in KalingaStone is top class but what makes it an all-rounder, is standard size and consistency.

Likewise, especially in regions with inclement weather what kind of flooring would you advise?

Marble, both natural and engineered are suited for wet conditions. Marble is a relatively porous stone and will allow any residual water on its surface to dry quicker than on other surfaces.

In spaces like basements, airports, railway stations, places which have to handle bulk load what kind of flooring is most preferable?

For such high traffic areas like at airports, railway stations and in basements, KalingaStone Quartz is most apt. An engineered material, Quartz slabs are extremely strong and hard, hygienic, non-porous, and popularly installed in applications that demand durability with aesthetics. The slabs are thicker and are resistant to wear and tear including scratching. This minimizes the need for any special maintenance. Particularly in flooring applications, Quartz slabs are an ideal choice since the stone does not lose its shine or discolor despite continuous footfalls.

With the onset of the pandemic, what are some of the measures one can take to ensure the floor remains sanitized and disinfected?

It is recommended to clean the floor with a PH neutral cleaner. Regular maintenance not only reduces germs but also decreases the risk of infection spread from surfaces.
